One of the best parts of kitchen transformations is witnessing the stunning before-and-after. And I’ve been excited to share this transformation with you.

Designing this kitchen was all about collaboration. My clients had some clear goals: they wanted a large island, a statement hood, and plenty of storage. We explored several layout options, balancing the need for functionality with the desire to create a stunning visual centerpiece. In the end, we achieved both, adding sneaky hidden storage on the backside of the island for items they don't need daily, while also delivering on their dream of an open, airy kitchen.

Throughout the process, I provided design boards to help them navigate decisions like cabinet finishes, lighting, and hardware. One of my favorite moments was when the client found a light fixture on TikTok that she loved but couldn’t track down. I dove deep into the research and finally sourced the exact lights for her. When we installed them alongside the full-height tile, it became clear: those lights were the perfect finishing touch.

The client did an excellent job picking out her final finishes, like the Azzurra Bay counters below. Having a designer by her side gave her confidence in every choice she made.

As the project neared its end, the client chose Black Café appliances that I wasn’t quite sure about. I thought they might compete with the focal point—our show-stopping hood. But when I saw them in the finished space, I was so glad she didn’t listen to me! They added an unexpected detail that made the kitchen truly unique.

Sometimes, the best design advice is simply this: if you love it, go for it. The beauty of personalized design is that there’s no single right answer—there’s only what feels right to you.

For this project, my virtual design process enabled us to collaborate seamlessly on everything from layout to finishes, providing a streamlined yet personalized experience. This approach also equipped the homeowner and contractor with the guidance needed to bring the design to life exactly as envisioned. In the end, this collaborative journey transformed the space into a kitchen that feels perfectly tailored, functional, and uniquely theirs.
