Welcome to the very first blog from Lei Low Interiors! I am so happy you are here! Let me start by introducing myself. I’m Amy Nakamura: Mom, Wife, Surfer, and Interior Design Consultant. My passion is traveling with my family every chance we get. Each time we are away I bring a little something back that I want to incorporate into my everyday life. Sometimes it’s a color pallet, a feeling, a cocktail, a seating arrangement or a way of life. My goal for this blog is to share a little travel inspiration and show you ways to incorporate a little wanderlust into your home interior design.
Create Your Everyday Escape
Why is it that a stay at boutique hotel feels so good?! I’ll tell you why (but I’m sure you already know!), everything in a well designed hotel is cohesive, well-layed out, the scale of the furniture fits the space, and there is attention to detail in every aspect. There isn’t laundry piled up, a chair that doesn’t quite fit, a rug that is too small. There is no clutter, no object that was placed without intention. Every room has a specific purpose and function. The furnishings, accessories and lighting all come together to invoke a certain feeling. Each time I come from a trip I am inspired to create that relaxing, come stay awhile feeling at home. And you can too!!

On The Blog
On the blog I’ll share gorgeous spots from around the globe and create interpretation designs that you can use for your home, along with shoppable links to create the look. Follow along for our monthly blog series where we will share a quick travel guide: See, Do and Eat. From there, we will share our room designs based on that month’s location. Whether you are inspired to take a trip or find home inspiration that you want to implement, we hope to create space where you are taken to another destination.
What’s To come
We’re starting our first blog series close to our home in North Florida. We are lucky enough to live within an hours drive of Amelia Island, Florida. If you’ve never traveled to Amelia Island, put it on your destination list! Amelia is VERY different from a lot of popular Florida beach destinations, you can find miles of untouched rugged beaches, bike trails galore and wonderful restaurants. What more do you need!!
