A Closer Look Inside the Architectural Beauty of
Perry Lane Hotel
As part of my Perry Lane Hotel destination inspiration series, we are talking architectural details. Nestled in the heart of Savannah, Georgia, the Perry Lane Hotel is a masterpiece of architectural design that seamlessly marries modern luxury with the city's rich historical charm. As you step inside this exquisite establishment, you'll be greeted by a stunning array of architectural details that evoke the timeless elegance of the South. In this blog post, I'll delve into some of the key architectural elements that you can incorporate into your own home.
Crown Molding
Crown molding is a hallmark of classical interior design, and Perry Lane Hotel doesn't disappoint in this regard. Throughout the hotel, you'll find meticulously crafted crown molding that adorns ceilings and walls, adding a touch of grandeur to each space. The crown molding here is often characterized by its intricate patterns and fine craftsmanship, which pays homage to the rich architectural heritage of Savannah.
In the guest bedroom youβll notice a traditional crown molding in addition to two thin molding layers on the ceiling. This detail draws the eye up and adds a layer of beauty in this small space. What a great use of materials for a modern way to incorporate the look of traditional crown molding. The ceiling painted in the rich wall color is the icing on the cake. Board and Batten
Another noteworthy architectural feature at Perry Lane Hotel is the use of board and batten wainscoting. This traditional design technique involves the application of wooden boards (the "boards") vertically against the lower half of a wall, creating a visually striking contrast between the lower and upper sections. This design element is prevalent in the hotel's common areas and guest rooms, imparting a sense of warmth and sophistication. I love how they mixed up the color with the blue detail in the above entry way.
Panel Molding
In the lobby lounge area youβll note the use of panel molding around the room paired with a high baseboard. I love the way they extended the molding almost up to door height and then added the textured, neutral wall paper. What a great way to add architectural details and extend the eye up. This type of panel molding is also a great way to disguise closet doors within a room. (I think I spy hidden doors surrounding the open shelving.)
Below youβll note more panel molding but this time painted a deep blue/green. Paired with stately crown molding, this really makes a statement! And donβt forget to zoom in on the in-set storage and open shelving. This could beautifully house a wet bar in a home design.
Shop the Look
What truly sets Perry Lane Hotel apart is the meticulous attention to detail evident in every architectural feature. From the ornate ceiling medallions that grace the hotel's chandeliers to the carefully chosen hardware and fixtures, no element has been overlooked. This commitment to craftsmanship and precision elevates the overall guest experience, making it a destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life.
Perry Lane Hotel is a shining example of how architectural details can elevate an atmosphere and create a memorable experience.
