In this quick travel post, I’ll guide you through the top-rated restaurants, shopping destinations, along with things to see and do in this enchanting city.

To Stay

Perry Lane Hotel

My favorite hotel in Savannah. (And the next destination inspiration, stay tuned for designs inspired by this hotel.)   The Perry Lane Hotel has touches of modern, mid-century, and classic elements pulled together in a quintessential Savannah-esk way.  If you aren’t staying be sure to pop up to Peregrin rooftop bar for a libation and view of the city.

To Eat

Afternoon Tea at Gryphon-

Enjoy the former pharmacy turned beautiful dining room with historic charm.  When you are finished dining at Gryphon, pop into shopSCAD for artistic and unique finds.

The Olde Pink House –

Dine on Southern cuisine in this historic mansion. Make a reservation ahead of time to be sure you get a seat and if you can’t pop into the bar and enjoy the live music and get a seat in the basement.   Olde Pink House

Funny story we dined here when my daughter was about three.  She looked at me and said “who is that man sitting beside you mom”.  We were dining in a private room and there absolutely was no one else sitting beside me…just an empty chair. I can’t help but believe there may have been someone else dining with us that wasn’t in our party.

Alligator Soul

Fine dining with a reptilian twist.  Yes, there are many dishes beyond ones that contain alligator but if you’re taste buds are curious make a reservation.  You won’t regret it!  Alligator Soul

 To Shop

Paris Market –

Located on busy Broughton Street is a gem of store.  Explore unique home and gift items with a Parisian flair.  After you’ve explored their beautiful selection stop for a French seltzer and macaron at their charming cafe.

Asher & Rye

I love Asher & Rye for simple and beautifully curated goods.  The owners are designers and have quite the eye for gorgeous aesthetics.  You’ll want to leave with everything here!

Hannah E.

Shop the Hannah’s curated collection of simple staples (who doesn’t need that!) Intended with the capsule wardrobe in mind. After you’ve visited Asher and Hannah E. stay on  Whitaker Street and enjoy the other boutiques and home stores nearby.

To Do

Spend some time in Forsyth Park –

Stroll under the majestic Live Oaks and admire the beautiful fountain.  Grab a coffee from Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park…bring a blanket, book and spend a little time lounging and admiring this gorgeous park.

Take a Trolley Ride –

Almost anytime I visit a new city I like to hop on their city tour bus.  Touristy-yes! But I like to get a feel for the layout of the city and observe if there are any spots I want to revisit that aren’t on my original itinerary. Usually these tours are pretty quick as to not take up too much time out of your day.  Plus, it’s a great way to learn quick facts about the city you are in.  So don’t miss the Savannah Trolley
